It’s no surprise that we love our studio memberships and the people who use them! By becoming an exclusive member, you can level-up your content and client experience, along with being part of a collaborative community.
Emma Christine Photography became a member at White Space Studio in 2020. She was a member for over two years, and we loved having her be a part of our community and seeing the ways that she utilized her membership.
Emma has since opened her own studio and has a thriving boudoir business, and credits White Space as being a stepping stone to being able to do that. We wanted to feature her and her business today as she shared more about why she loved being a member of White Space.
I’m a boudoir photographer! I help women rediscover their magic by helping them see themselves through someone else’s eyes. I provide a complete photography service for my clients by walking them through outfit choices, providing them with a client wardrobe, and include professional hair and makeup for their session. When their session is complete and their photos are retouched, we go over options for displaying their favorite photos (wall art, albums and everything in-between) and I take care of the designing and ordering process for them.
Oh man, everything! I shot my sessions there, edited their photos and met them for reveal sessions/in person sales meetings. Sometimes even content creation and styled shoots! It was just a great hub that was in a convenient location to meet my clients!
Because of the flexibility at White Space, no two sessions with different photographers look truly alike! This is not the case for all rental studios in town and because I was just getting established here, I definitely wanted to look *unique* for my sessions.
When you don’t have a steady flow of clients wanting sessions in a studio yet, it can be really hard to commit to the expense of running your own studio, especially in a town as big as Sioux Falls. The demand for real estate is higher here and that made me nervous to commit to not only the monthly expense for leasing a space, but also the additional expenses of purchasing studio furniture, decor, and other expenses that come up! All of those worries were taken off of my plate at White Space Studio and I could just focus on growing my business and taking care of my clients.
When White Space first opened its doors I believe I was shooting something like one or two boudoir sessions per month, now that’s what I do each week and have completely niched my business down into only offering boudoir sessions. I hit my first 10k, 20k, and 30k months at White Space and had my first 100k year the first year that I was at White Space Studio. I think because I had this space to shoot and was committed to filling my calendar, that helped push me and streamline my business doing something I really enjoyed!
White Space is the BEST place for elevating your studio work. Maddie + Jeff always make sure it is clean, furniture and decor is in good condition, and the Diet Cokes are well stocked in the fridge 🙂 It feels like home each time you enter!
I think a lot of people worry about scheduling hiccups when sharing a space but this was not a problem for me! My clients were always able to find the studio easily and felt comfortable making themselves at home when they’d get to the studio!
